Congratulations for progressing into the 2nd Trimester pregnancy stage. It has been an emotional journey for most part, I am sure. After all, it is an emotional journey… a good emotional journey.

If you have overcome the initial phase of morning sickness, you would probably enjoy life a lot better. In fact, 2nd Trimester Pregnancy stage is a honeymoon stage.  This is supposed to be generalization of women who goes through pregnancy. Do not be bitter if you do not fall into this category and still suffering with morning sickness or other discomfort.  There are a minority of women who have morning sickness throughout their pregnancy, till the day they deliver their baby.

2nd Trimester Pregnancy seems to be a phase which most pregnant women enjoy.  Mostly due the passing phase of morning sickness and fear of the possibility of miscarriage and for some, overcoming the shock of the pregnancy. Eventually accepting the gift of a new life and welcoming it with joy and happiness.

2nd Trimester Pregnancy | More comfortable and more enjoyment period

Going through numerous changes is part of the 2nd Trimester Pregnancy symptoms.  You will notice even more changes in your body size, your breasts enlarge even further.  This is due to the estrogen and progesterone stimulation.  Your body is getting ready to produce milk  to feed your newborn baby. There might be tenderness on the nipples and this might be a good time to apply oil or lotion on your nipple, a practice which you may have to do throughout your breastfeeding activities.

One of the most lasting changes on your body during the 2nd Trimester Pregnancy stage, is having stretch marks.  This is common among most women even though there is minority who does not experience any stretch marks.  Affected areas are mostly on their buttocks, thighs, upper arms, abdomen and breasts.  It can look ugly with pink, red and purple streaks which might fade in intensity but never totally gone, by itself. There are beauty houses which offer laser treatment to lessen stretch marks. You might want to try applying lotion or olive oil prior to the 2nd Trimester Pregnancy stage.  There has been women who have done this and the stretch marks has been significantly lesser.

The list goes on for the various changes to your body including gums, faster heart beat pace, leg cramps, dizziness, contractions and many others. Just take a day at a time and relax. If you are working, this period could be physically challenging.  Try to find ways to relax in between time like a lunch time cat nap, eat small meals and snacks, wear flats and sit back to wait for the 2nd Trimester Pregnancy to pass while the 3rd trimester pregnancy awaits you!
